Choosing the right partner has never been more challenging but our industry collectively needs to focus on transparency, trust and processes that bring safety back to the consumer.

As our entire industry goes through a turbulent time, driven by the rise in fraudulent calls it’s crucial to provide customers with secure, reliable voice communications to underpin their business growth.

I recently spoke at a Cavell panel and below are my three key factors in choosing an international partner:

  • Firstly, you need a partner that recognises the scale of challenge that is facing cloud providers using international voice services. Fraud has become the existential problem that threatens our collective future, and as such partners need to be able to show how they can help bring trust back in telecoms.

  • Secondly, they need to be able to demonstrate a direct and transparent relationship with the tier one in-country telecoms operators, meaning that cloud providers can be sure they are getting both the best quality and price for their voice requirements.

  • Thirdly, you need a partner that is plugged into the future of the industry and not only understands how, when and where we can expect regulations, but is also part of the conversations leading to that regulation. Organisations such as thei3ForumOneConsortium are a great starting point, in which Wavecrest has been involved since its inception.

Choosing the right partner has never been more challenging but our industry collectively needs to focus on transparency, trust and processes that bring safety back to the consumer.
